How to write a home page that gets people to call
· 1 min read
A good home page follows the questions a visitor asks, in the order they ask them.
The order that works
- What is this? One line that names what you do.
- Is it for me? Who you help and where.
- Can I trust it? Quotes, numbers or logos.
- What do I do next? One clear button.
Write like you talk
Read each line out loud. If you would not say it to a customer across the counter, rewrite it.
Short words. Short sentences. One idea at a time.
One main button
Pick the single action you want most and repeat it. Too many choices means no choice gets made.
