How to store coffee beans so they taste good for weeks

A bag of fresh coffee changes every day after it is roasted. Store it well and it stays sweet for about four weeks. Here is how.

Keep it in the bag

Our bags have a one way valve and a zip. Squeeze the air out, seal it and you have a better container than most canisters on the market.

Dark and cool, not cold

1. Not on the counter by the window: light and heat fade the flavor fast.
2. Not in the fridge: beans pick up smells and moisture every time the door opens.
3. A cupboard away from the stove is perfect.

The freezer question

Freezing works if you split the bag into small airtight portions and only take out what you will use in a week. Never put frozen beans back.
