Hello, I'm Clara
I'm Clara, a wedding and event photographer in Asheville. I have been photographing people for twelve years and weddings for eight.
I started out photographing my friends' bands in tiny venues with terrible light. It taught me to wait, to watch and to never ask anyone to do it again for the camera.
That is still how I work. I want your photographs to look like your day felt, not like a magazine shoot that happened to you.
When I am not at a wedding, I am usually on a trail with my dog, Biscuit, or in the darkroom I built in our garden shed.

How I work
What you can count on
Mostly unposed
A few family photos and a short portrait walk. The rest of the day I stay out of the way and pay attention.
Honest color
Skin that looks like skin and skies that look like the sky that day. Photos that will still feel right in thirty years.
Calm on the day
Timelines slip and it rains sometimes. I have seen most of it before, and I will help you not worry about it.
