What to do if it rains on your wedding day

Every outdoor wedding has a little weather risk. A small plan turns rain into some of the most interesting photographs of the day.

Buy clear umbrellas

Clear umbrellas let the light through and do not cast a colored shadow on faces. Two or three are enough.

Find one covered spot

A porch, a barn door or a big tree. I will scout it before the day so we have somewhere to go.

Let it be part of the story

Some of my favorite frames were taken in the rain. If you can laugh about it, the photographs will show that.
