The short version.
Last updated January 1, 2026.
This page explains what Maya Ortiz collects through this website and what happens to it. In short: only what you send, used only for what you sent it for.
The newsletter
When you subscribe to Second Draft, I receive your email address and use it only to send the newsletter. Every email has a one click unsubscribe link. Your address is stored by the email service that sends it, on my behalf.
The contact form
When you send a message, I receive your name, email address and message. I use them to reply, and delete old messages once a conversation is done.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Our host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
Who I share it with
I do not sell or rent your information. It is only processed by the services that run this site and the newsletter.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what I hold about you. Email hello@example.com and I will reply within 30 days.
