Fieldnote

Every notes app I tried wanted to be my second brain. I just wanted a first one that worked. So I sketched an app with one screen, one font and no folders, and asked a friend who writes code if it was silly.

We charged from day one, five dollars a month, so we only had to please people who paid. We said no to teams, no to integrations and no to dark patterns. We said yes to a fast search and a good export button.

Fieldnote is six people, profitable since year two, and still has one screen. We ship something small every Thursday and write about it on the changelog.
