How to use it

Three minutes, tops.

  1. 1Pick the business type that fits you best. A specific type like Plumber or Dentist beats the general one.
  2. 2Fill in your name, address, phone and hours exactly as they appear on your Google Business Profile.
  3. 3Copy the code and paste it into the head of your homepage. Then test it with Google's Rich Results Test.

Questions

Things people ask me.

What is LocalBusiness schema?

It is a small block of code that tells search engines the facts about your business in a format they can read without guessing: your name, address, phone, hours and the area you serve. Visitors never see it.

Does schema help local SEO?

It helps Google trust and understand your details, which supports your local rankings and can unlock richer results. It works best when it matches your Google Business Profile and your listings word for word.

Where do I put the code?

Paste it into the head of your homepage, or your contact page if that is where your address lives. WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and Webflow all have a custom code or header code setting for this.

I work from home and do not show my address. What now?

Fill in your city, state and ZIP, leave the street blank and list the cities you serve. That mirrors how Google handles service area businesses. The checks will remind you about the street, and that is fine to skip.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type leaves this page unless you hit save.
