Make your GitHub repo

A private repo for your site, with main protected so every change goes through a pull request.

7 min

A repo (short for repository) is a folder on GitHub that holds your site's code and every change ever made to it. Nothing is lost. Any change can be read, previewed and undone.

Claude will never change your live site directly. It works on a branch, a copy of the code where it can make changes safely. When it is done, it opens a pull request: a page that shows exactly what changed and asks to merge it into main, the branch your live site is built from. You read it and click merge. That is the loop for the rest of the course.
